E17west

E17west is a joint initiative of 6 institutions for contemporary art that are all located along the E17 motorway between Ghent and Kortrijk: SMAK / Ghent, Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens / Deurle, Roger Raveelmuseum / Machelen aan de Leie, Be-Part / Waregem, Deweer Art Gallery / Otegem and the Buda Arts Centre / Kortrijk. The aim is to point out to visitors, who are less familiar with the region, that a trip to any of these arts centres is easily combined with a visit to other exhibitions. The first results of this initiative are the brochure, which has been distributed on a large scale, and the website http://www.e17west.be/. On Heritage Day (Sunday 23 April) all the participating arts centres will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Art lovers who pay a visit to all of them on that day will get a surprise!
