Tony Cragg - Nieuwe Sculpturen
The first exhibition of the new year 2002 Tony Cragg – New Sculptures brings from 9 March on new work by British-German sculptor Tony Cragg to Otegem. Tony Cragg (°1949, Liverpool, GB) foresees an interesting ensemble of most recent and new sculptures in different materials and colours! If time allows there will be 3 new sculptures in marble (red and white marble from Turkey and yellow marble from Siena, I), 4 bronzes including the red “Formulation (right turning left turning)”, and further a new sculpture in wood and another in synthetics. At the very moment we write you this Newsletter people are working to finish both last-named objects. It goes without saying that Tony Cragg with this set of sculptures that mostly haven’t been shown in Belgium before, will install an exhibition that exceeds even the magnificent show we had in 1998. This will be a must for the many amateurs of the great and fascinating artistic personality Tony Cragg is.
At the occasion of the exhibition “Tony Cragg – New Sculptures” too a richly illustrated catalogue will be published (presumably around the end of March).
The exhibition remains open from Sunday 10 March until Sunday 14 April 2002, from Wednesday until Sunday, 2 - 6 p.m. and by appointment (closed on Easter, 31 March).
