Mimmo Paladino

Mimmo Paladino, Sogno Umido, 1984

It has taken Mark Deweer approximately three years to convince Italian artist Mimmo Paladino, whose work he had learned to know in a 1982 exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum of Amsterdam and at the same year’s Documenta, to make an exhibition for the gallery. Paladino’s one-man show “Selected works on paper” as well as Enzo Cucchi’s show of 1989 may have counterbalanced the widespread presence of the Italian artists of the Arte Povera in those days.
