Aernout Mik

born in Groningen, The Netherlands, in 1962 - lives and works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Aernout Mik is extremely critical against art and the whole scene hanging around. To put it in his words: "The word 'art', I'm not interested at any price."

In 1990 he entered DEWEER gallery with the group exhibition Scanning 1990. He presented his "Dummies" , linen dolls without faces and limbs, and a skin covered with a photo printed ceramic images of specific places are spelled. These photographs raise questions about the relationship between the represented and its image and the context of the show places in particular.
